"Photography, if practiced with high seriousness, is a contest between a photographer and the presumptions of approximate and habitual seeing. The contest can be held anywhere..." John Szarkowski Today we had a great open, eclectic meeting with lots of photography from John, Cyndi, Jim, Kevin and Rod Williams... First up is John showing some work he created on his iPhone using an app called "Union" which allows you to combine pictures from your photo archive. As always, John provided some artistic combos...severl of which are below...both untitled Jim showed some work he shot post Rose Parade entitled "Provisional Property: Lines to Post"....visually noting the lines of demarcation for those staking out their space on the streets for the parade....seemingly following in the style of Walker Evans....some images are below untitled Cyndi showed some shots that were taken at the aftermath of the South Pasadena Color Wars event. She pointed her camera downward and shot the cement with the splatters of the colored powders Rod Williams showed two prints...real pictures...variations of his shots of a Willet (bird)...again, the pictures are untitled... Kevin brought a You Tube video of an interview with photographer Huntington Witherill...worth the 15 minute watch
