**Please note the image on our home page** It is by Cyndi Bemel who we all miss at our f8 meetings Looking forward to seeing her at future sessions Today was an open session in large part taken up by discussions of future home possibilities. Afer the discussions we had presentations by three f8'ers. Howard told of his recent visits with Judy Dater in Berkeley. Below is his narrative: "Ellen and Howard visited Judy’s studio and also spent the day with her and her husband, Jack von Euw, who is the photography historian at the Bancroft Library at UC Berkeley. Howard was amazed at how small her studio is, with her 4 x 5 camera no more than six feet away from her subjects. She recently abandoned her darkroom in favor of scanning her negatives and then printing digitally. She does all the work herself. She says she doesn’t miss the darkroom. She is donating all the equipment to a local school and says she is feeling freer and able to spend more time on the pictures themselves instead of the chemistry." Here’s Judy with her camera and one of her more famous images of Imogen and Twinka at Yosemite. Howard showed some images he shot while on his SF trip...below are several Bill showed a new set of abstracts derived from images shot in Havana several years ago...below are a few example from the set of 20. Bill promised to show the steps needed to get this image from the originals.
