John Szarkowski Today was an open session and we had a number of visual contributions Julia Woodward who recently rejoined f8 had a large number of images...too many to post...but I could only post several...Julia has a visual esthetic of horizontal lines but, in fact a number of her images had a vertical perspective...two are below (untitled) Scott Herman used his iPhone from a plane to photograph some land patterns in color then B&W...below is one of each Cyndi Bemel recently was tasked to photograph food...she decided to tackle "bread" as one of her food projects...below are several examples from a project called "Malt Bread" Finally, Joe showed some recent images IN COLOR...yes, color Charley Kohlhase who was not with us at f8 today will have his images as part of a show at the Pasadena Museum of History. His images will be part of a major science fiction exhibition from 3/3/2018 to 9/2/2018, featuring the evolution of science fiction from its early days through its future. Charley will have works both at the Museum of History and the Pasadena Public Library. His medium is large prints on watercolor luster paper made in the 1990s. Sample images of works shown below. Bill talked about the upcoming Lit-Fest Pasadena in May. As part of that Bill, Debe Arlook and Brian Biery will hold a seminar exploring the intersection of literature and images. The session for authors will be entitled "A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words...and Vice Versa." Debe and Bill will have their images with words at the Girdner Gallery where the session will be held.
