"The still (picture) must tease with the promise of a story the viewer of it itches to be told." Cindy Sherman Today we had a presentation from one of our own, Carrie Hirsch. We last saw her work several years ago as she began her odyssey into the world of photography. Since that time she has further explored her primary focus...conceptual photography using paintings of the masters as the starting point for staging her subjects and background in her visual interpretation. Several examples are below... Also she has sought out women subjects and women with small businesses as subjects for her professional photography business. There was discussions centering on her influences photographically...and whether her visual interpretations were influenced by the self portraits of Cindy Sherman. We all encouraged Carrie to participate more often Next we had a nice discussion of Howard Landau's recent art excursion to Cuba.
